“The future is already here, and it is right at our booth,” Castrol bp CEO Michelle Jou said about Castrol’s innovative solutions to cooling datacenters.

Jou was the first speaker in the datacenter solution forum session, on the afternoon of May 21 at COMPUTEX 2025,

Castrol has developed several breakthrough liquid cooling solutions for datacenters and launched major collaborations with global partners, with four key partnerships in Taiwan alone, Jou highlighted.

Taiwan’s position at the center of advanced chipmaking technology makes it “the natural leader in advanced cooling technologies,” and its companies “are driving innovation,” in the space, Jou said.

At the end of her presentation, Jou released Castrol’s white paper on liquid cooling, reinforcing her bold vision.

“We do not want to chase the markets, we wish to shape the markets,” Division President of Infineon’s Power and Sensor Systems (PSS) Adam White said, about his company’s work in finding solutions on the horizon for AI datacenters.

White followed Jou as the forum’s second speaker where he spoke about his company’s breakthroughs in meeting the power demands of an ever-increasing number of datacenters.

“AI consumes 2-3 percent of the world’s power,” he said, while pointing out that just three questions asked to an AI agent was the equivalent of charging a smartphone 1.5-2 times.

White highlighted Infineon’s full stack solutions, providing everything from software drivers to microcontrollers, and announced their new server rack architecture launched in collaboration with NVIDIA.

Colin Presly, Seagate’s VP of Customer Engineering was next, discussing how AI datacenters can be developed and operated sustainably.

Presly made four assertions at the beginning of his presentation: data will increase in value, the volume of data will increase, processing the data leads to increased carbon emissions, and that current technology contains solutions to these concerns.

“There is no silver bullet, it takes a really holistic approach across the datacenter,” Presly said.

Presly then highlighted Seagate’s innovations and efforts to improve and create greener data centers, such as more density in datacenters, optimizing hard drive power usage, promoting recycling programs, reducing waste, and more.

Pankaj Sharma, Executive Vice President for Data Centers, Networks & Services at Schneider Electric, was the penultimate speaker and focused on AI electricity consumption.

Sharma warned about the looming AI energy crisis, but expressed confidence that AI can “unlock” energy efficiency.

He cited the example of an AI-powered HVAC system that would have lower energy requirements than a conventional one, more than offsetting power used by the AI system and creating a net benefit.

Implementing already known solutions alone could reduce data center energy usage by 17% alone, “bending” the energy curve.

The forum’s final speaker was Alan Chang, VP, Infrastructure Solutions Business Group at Compal, who gave an overview on all aspects of AI datacenters.

Chang expressed optimism in the ongoing and upcoming AI revolution, but also mentioned concerns the industry must respond to, like energy needs, cooling requirements, and cybersecurity.

He also highlighted Compal’s focus on sustainability, ending his presentation saying, “everything we are doing is providing a better future for humans.”
