COMPUTEX 2025, one of the world’s most prestigious information and communication technology (ICT) conventions and organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), this year continues to provide a platform, the COMPUTEX Sourcing Meeting, for those within the ICT industry to meet, commingle and seek potential partnerships and collaborations.

This year’s Sourcing Meeting saw the participation of Grupo OSI, hailing from Guatemala and represented by Ernesto Rossbach Rodriguez. Grupo OSI, with branch offices across Central America and some branches expanded into Colombia, had learned of the COMPUTEX event through acquaintances in Guatemala’s Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO).
With roots in computing and having made some forays into telecommunications and the energy sector, Grupo OSI is beginning to explore the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), primarily in the energy sector, and is interested in learning about new development trends and exploring opportunities – of which he said there were some promising aspects – to develop collaborations outside of Central and South America.
Rodriguez said he and his delegation were excited to explore COMPUTEX and InnoVEX at further length while praising the overall organization of the event.

Nota Group, a hardware distributor, power provider and telecom service provider from Ethiopia, represented by General Manager Abiy Balcha, had also joined the show’s sourcing meeting, having been approached by TAITRA representatives in Ethiopia.
Taiwanese products were almost ubiquitous in Ethiopia, as the majority of lights, advertisement of lighting products, and electronics during his youth were from Taiwan, Balcha said, while expressing his enthusiasm at his success throughout the Sourcing Meeting, stating not only his wish to return to COMPUTEX next year, but also making clear that he wished to pursue further partnerships and collaboration with local Taiwanese companies.
The Taiwanese government and COMPUTEX aren’t just focused on selling products for sustainability, green energy, and smart cities, but are also fostering startups in these sectors, which sets a prominent example for the whole world, Balcha said.

Also present at the Sourcing Meeting was NTT SA, a desktop PC distributor from Poland with founding roots as PC assemblers, or PC component exporters based in Singapore as early as 1987, before relocating back to Poland after the 1989 Revolution.
The company’s history with Singapore provided the company founder ample opportunities to learn about COMPUTEX and visit, keeping the habit up through the years.

Commenting on the AI trend, NTT SA Product Manager Grzegorz Kurek said that the show overall was likable, and whale being unable to comment on the Sourcing Meeting efficacy in terms of business, stated that the platform allowed the company the opportunity to catch up with existing clients and hash out problems face-to-face.
