Flanders, a region in northern Belgium, has 60% of the country’s population and 80% of the national GDP. Located between London, Paris and Amsterdam, it is not only one of Europe’s biggest business hubs, but an important place for technology research. Headquartered in Leuven, Belgium, the Interuniversity Microelectronics Center (imec) is a world leading institution in microelectronics and related nanotechnologies, integrating industry and academia.
This is the third consecutive year that Flanders Investment and Trade has set up a national pavilion at InnoVEX, inviting key players from Flanders’ technology industry to participate. This year it is bigger than ever with four high-tech start-ups, Pharrowtech, Luceda, Barco and QustomDot, showcasing their latest technologies.

Pharrowtech came out of imec and brings the latest millimeter wave (mmWave) technologies, designed for next-generation wireless transmission. Luceda, which also came from imec, enables photonic IC designers to enjoy the same power as electronic IC designers. It uses IPKISS software to automate and integrate the complete photonic design flow.

Barco showcased a wireless conference room built with low-carbon equipment. Through Barco’s new wireless video conferencing system, businesses can communicate effectively with clients around the world without leaving the office. The integration of low-energy display equipment helps companies reach their net-zero and energy-saving goals. QustomDot brought their quantum dot technology for vibrant color conversion to the pavilion, which is leading the display revolution.
At Flanders/ Belgium Pavilion, visitors learn about the world’s newest and most crucial technologies, exploring the vastness of human technology.
