
Charles Liang, the founder and CEO of Supermicro, underscored his company’s commitment to cutting-edge AI and green computing technologies, enabling customers to develop application-optimized IT solutions at any scale.
Speaking during a keynote at COMPUTEX 2024, Liang showcased Supermicro’s latest advancements in rack-scale plug-and-play (PnP) solutions, featuring innovations such as liquid cooling, enhanced efficiency, and optimized performance for AI, cloud, and edge computing applications.
Highlighting Supermicro’s remarkable business growth in AI in recent years, Liang emphasized the significant benefits that generative AI trends offer. He pointed out the potential of AI in green computing, citing Supermicro’s efforts to propagate drought-resistant tree species in the Sahara Desert.
He reiterated Supermicro’s commitment to green computing by integrating environmentally friendly practices into the design of every solution.

“Supermicro has integrated green computing DNA into the design of every solution we offer. For decades, we have been the leader in designing and supplying the most optimal and efficient building program of today’s server storage infrastructure,” Liang said.
He also introduced the new DLC technology for efficient AI development and its potential impact on the industry
Liang noted that Supermicro continues to spearhead the growth of generative AI technologies by pushing boundaries and crafting innovative, energy-efficient solutions spanning from data centers to the intelligent edge.
“With our strong commitment to offering green IT solutions and customer satisfaction, Supermicro’s liquid cooling technology is designed to reduce energy consumption and lower data center TCO by up to 40% while optimizing the system’s performance for customers and reducing the carbon footprint,” Liang said.
Liang stated that Supermicro is currently delivering 100kW per rack AI solutions and he also introduced Supermicro’s cutting-edge systems, known as Building Block Solutions®, designed to prioritize time-to-market and reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) for data centers.

Acknowledging the growing importance of green computing, Liang emphasized Supermicro’s commitment to designing components that maximize server and data center performance while minimizing environmental impact.
During the keynote, Liang invited NVIDIA Founder and CEO Jensen Huang to the stage to discuss how Supermicro is driving these advancements. The two had an engaging interaction, with Huang highlighting the importance of accelerating data centers for energy efficiency and the potential of AI in optimizing data center operations.
