Award-winning South Korean startups show their strengths at InnoVEX
With technology infrastructure years ahead of other developed markets and startups building up momentum, South Korea is demonstrating its strength at InnoVEX through 10 of its startups at the South Korean Pavilion.
The startups include MAIN INFO, which provides a car navigation system that employs a hologram and a motion sensor, and TAKEONE Co., developer of computer game “BTS WORLD” and related exclusive content.
M-Robo delivers investment information solutions using robot journalism in Money-Robo, an investment information curation service for private investors. A robot reporter collects and summarizes diverse information such as corporate disclosures, stock price information and news in real time and delivers the news. Elsewhere, Fin2B operates an accounts receivable discount platform.
SMARTSOUND Corp. aims to provide family healthcare solutions with a smart stethoscope.
BeyondLimit Co. Ltd. is always thinking about going beyond the limit and the result is “ARE,” an augmented-reality puzzle game ideal for children that helps them understand real and fake realities in the fast-paced world of the fourth industrial revolution.
FAVE by Strong Friends has developed the Smart Balance Trainer, a smart health care product that combines ICT and training equipment. Lululab Inc. offers skin analysis and product recommendation services through its skin analysis beauty device Lumini.
Last, but not least, ONESOFTDIGM Co. has developed the world’s first smartphone-compatible portable body-fat measurement device, while WithUs&Earth Co. has created the Wheelswing, a contactless bicycle-wheel-mounted electrical generator.
This is the fourth year that South Korea is to feature in InnoVEX. In previous years, a Korean startup signed a memorandum of understanding with a Taiwanese augmented- and virtual-reality content creator to collaborate on program development, while another Korean startup inked an export deal with an Italian sports brand. The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) vowed to improve startups’ performance at COMPUTEX 2019 through thorough market analysis in cooperation with Taiwanese venture capital.
Unlike other global startup events, InnoVEX centers the spotlight on the complete industrial supply chain, diverse tech applications and polished, commercial-ready products.
InnoVEX is open May 29-31 at Taipei World Trade Center, Hall 1. COMPUTEX brings together the complete startup industry value chain and connects global startups with Taiwan’s advantages.
KOTRA, a state-funded trade and investment promotion organization, is tasked with assisting companies interested in products from big data, cybersecurity and e-sports to biotech, IoT and mobile and wearable technology. In 2018, South Korea was Taiwan’s fifth-largest trading partner and among the top five international buyers at COMPUTEX
