Global ICT Giants Gather to Create Infinite Possibilities for the Technology Ecosystem

Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) announced the 2019 COMPUTEX exhibitor list today during its kick-off press conference today. The organizer also announced senior executives from global tech giants such as AMD, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Qualcomm will talk about technological innovations and analyze the latest industry trends and development strategies. They will exchange with global players through the exhibition platform and combine Taiwan’s valuable industrial chain to create infinite possibilities for the technology ecosystem.

Building the Complete Technology Ecosystem

COMPUTEX 2019 continues its position of Building Global Technology Ecosystems, focusing on the latest tech trends such as AI & IoT, 5G, Blockchain, Innovations & Startups, and Gaming & XR. The 2019 show attracts 1,685 exhibitors to use 5,508 exhibition booths, growing 5.1% and 9.8% (respectively) from last year.

The TWTC Nangang Exhibition Hall 2 (TaiNEX 2) will be used for the first time this year, showcasing IoT, communication, 5G related products, and the future lifestyle of all things connected. After integrating VR (virtual reality), AR (Augmented Reality) and XR (Extended Reality) into COMPUTEX, nearly 100 renowned domestic and international manufacturers will present the latest developments and e-sports products, laying the foundation for Taiwan to become one the most important part of the global e-sports ecosystem.

Going into the fourth year, InnoVEX has become the most innovative platform for startups in Asia. The exhibit will be displayed at the TWTC Exhibition Hall 1 from May 29th to 31st, attracting 402 startups from around the world. Among them, startups from Poland, Hong Kong, Hungary, and Brazil were invited to form national (regional) pavilions. They are joining 11 other national pavilions including the Netherlands, France and South Korea. Through the COMPUTEX platform, the outstanding startups will re-ignite the kinetic energy of technology innovation.

Diverse Applications of AI and IoT

This year, COMPUTEX combines artificial intelligence and Internet of Things (AI & IoT) across multiple exhibition areas such as “Systems and Solutions”, “Industrial Internet of Things and Embedded Solutions”, “SmarTEX”, and “InnoVEX”, displaying solutions ranging from smart homes, smart transportation, wearables, and health technology.

CyberLink, who attended the press conference, showed FaceMe, the world’s top cross-platform AI facial recognition engine built for Windows, Linux, Android, and iOS that can be used in smart retail, smart finance, smart security, and other solutions. “Over the years, AMD has driven innovation in high-performance computing, graphics, and visualization technologies, we continue to grow and excel in the field of high-performance computing,” AMD said at the press conference. BenQ will use “BenQ Intelligent Qube” as the theme of this year’s COMPUTEX, combining ten partners to showcase multi-innovative AIoT smart solutions; SUPERMICRO, based on the advanced architecture of Resource-saving, will exhibit a new generation of servers and storage systems to provide better, faster and more environmentally friendly solutions.

Heavyweight Speakers Gather at COMPUTEX

A CEO Keynote has been added to this year’s COMPUTEX International Press Conference, held the day before the opening of COMPUTEX, inviting AMD President & CEO Dr. Lisa Su, to give a speech on “The Next Generation of High-Performance Computing”, discussing the industry development and layout of high-performance computing. The COMPUTEX Opening Keynote by Intel on the first day of the exhibition invites Gregory M. Bryant, Intel’s Senior Vice president and General Manager of the Client Computing Group, to give a presentation. The Microsoft Keynote Forum, which will take place on the second day of the exhibition, is also what the industry looks forward every year.

For the first time, TAITRA cooperates with the Ministry of Economic Affairs 5G Technology Program Office to organize the 6th TAIPEI 5G SUMMIT. By inviting experts from telecom manufacturer Ericsson, chip manufacturer Qualcomm, Asia Pacific Telecom, and Quanta, to discuss how to integrate 5G with emerging IT technology to create a revolutionary market innovative application and business model after the commercialization of 5G.

Based on the theme of “Pervasive Intelligence”, the 2019 COMPUTEX Forum has invited 18 heavyweight speakers from leading firms such as IBM, Intel, Micron, NVIDIA, SAP, Siemens and more to discuss in three topic sessions: “Disruptive Trends Session”, “AI Session”, and “AIoT Session”. The speakers will unveil their insights into future trends, announce industry distribution, new products, and disruptive technology trends.

COMPUTEX 2019 will open from May 28 to June 1 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Hall 1 & 2 (TaiNEX 1 & 2), TWTC Exhibition Hall 1, and Taipei International Convention Center (TICC). The five-day exhibition will bring together Taiwanese and international ICT suppliers and startups to showcase integrated technologies and the latest products that will open up new business opportunities and create new heights for the ICT industry.
